No. Groundcheck verifies business entities (companies, LLCs, contractors) using public records. It’s not a consumer report and doesn’t run FCRA-regulated checks on individuals. To screen a person for employment or housing, use a provider built and licensed for that.

Every report carries a correction channel. A business that believes a cited public record is inaccurate can flag it; we re-check against the source and update our reflection of it. We report what the agency published. If the agency record changes, ours does too.

Standing and registry data are pulled live or near-live at report time, and each line shows when it was checked. Slower-moving records are cached and refreshed on a schedule tuned to how often that record class changes.

For a business entity, yes, and that is the design intent. Findings name the agency, court, or registry they came from and the date pulled. Every evidence row is written into an append-only SHA-256 chain that we re-verify nightly and that you can re-check yourself on the report’s verification page. Be precise about what that seals: the chain fixes each row’s position, identity and source artefact, so rows cannot be inserted, reordered or removed after the fact — it does not seal the wording of the summary line. Where we do not retain the underlying document, the line links to the official record so you can verify it at the source. The boundary: reports cover entities, not people, and may not be used for any FCRA-regulated decision about an individual. To screen a person, use a provider licensed for that.

It surfaces a business that looks new but is carrying an old record: a dissolved or delinquent entity with unresolved judgments, and a newly formed entity sharing its address and registered-agent signals. When those line up, the report flags it as a phoenix pattern with both entities and the linking signal cited, so you can see the basis rather than take our word for it. It is an automated detection, not a manual review, and it never asserts a pattern on a single shared signal alone.
